"I have stayed in 20+ hotels in Iceland. This guesthouse is a shining beacon above every place I have stayed in Iceland, Scotland, England and Germany. "Cozy wooden cabins in a nice location and a delicious breakfast. One thing to note is that cabins are joined in a longer house and are thus not soundproof - we could hear our fellow travelers talking, snoring, using the bathroom etc. The farm is now building another series of such cabins - perhaps they can take note of this issue especially for bathrooms - not nice to have to listen to your neighbor urinating when you are enjoying a glass of prosecco after relaxing in a nearby spa (Fontana)"

"Lovely remote farm outside of Selfoss. Close to Golden Circle. We caught the Northern lights. Helena was friendly and welcoming. We missed her 6pm goat tour but hope to come back again. "

"The Hela cabin was a wonderful stay for 3 people, it was charming and cozy. There were also horses living on the other side of the fence, we had a joy feeding and petting them! The location was also a plus, far enough from town to enjoy the stars and country atmosphere, but near enough for a short drive for meals and groceries (~10 mins)."

"Very first time in a hostel type hotel. I booked a room with a 'small bathroom' heads up - that means there's a tiny sink in the room, you still share a shower/bathroom down the hall. Small kitchen to use and 2 bathrooms on the main floor. We got there and used the hot tubs had wine right away after a long day. "We spent 3 nights at this cottage for exploring parts of the Golden Circle. The cottage was a perfect home away from home. It had the necessary amenities needed for a comfortable stay. The dining and living room areas were a decent size for a family of 4-6 people. The bunk bed and pillows weren’t the most comfortable. "The staff at Hotel Ranga are extremely accommodating, helpful and friendly. I visited on a family trip and the hotel staff were responsive and helped to book all our excursions through the hotel in Iceland. We also had last minute changes to our excursions and the staff helped my family make changes to our itinerary very last minute."

Quiet charming hotel

"The hotel was great. It is a remote location and it was the middle of the winter, so I think we might have been the only people in the hotel. We chose it because we wanted to be near Thingvellir and Gullfoss. The service and food was was excellent and I would not hesitate to stay there again. There is a natural spa nearby too. "

Lovely spa hotel— don’t miss the desserts!

"Gorgeous spa hotel that included a soaking tub in the room. The restaurant was a bit lackluster, with the exception of the desserts- which were truly incredible. The restaurant was apparently undergoing a management change when we were there, so it is understandable that the meal was a bit chaotic. Overall, a lovely hotel in a great location and we would definitely stay again. "
