"Rating: 5/5 Title: Luxurious Retreat in the Golden Circle – A Memorable Stay I recently stayed at Hotel Grímsborgir by Keahotels in Selfoss, and it was truly one of the most memorable parts of my Iceland trip. The hotel is set in a beautifully quiet and remote area, which makes it a perfect base for exploring the Golden Circle without the crowds. The peaceful surroundings and wide-open skies give it a unique charm, especially at night. The room I stayed in was spacious, well-appointed, and incredibly comfortable. The private hot tub outside was the highlight — soaking in the warmth under the stars was an unforgettable experience, especially when the Northern Lights made an appearance. The design of the rooms combines modern comfort with Icelandic charm, and everything was spotless and well-maintained. Breakfast was exceptional — a generous spread of fresh pastries, local cheeses, fruits, and hot items that changed daily. The on-site restaurant also served one of the best dinners I had in Iceland, with local specialties like Arctic char and lamb, all beautifully presented. Service was courteous and warm, and the staff made every effort to ensure guests were comfortable and well taken care of. It felt both luxurious and personal, which is a rare combination. If you’re looking for a quiet, scenic, and upscale stay in South Iceland — especially if you want to experience the Northern Lights in comfort — I highly recommend Hotel Grímsborgir. I would gladly stay here again."

"Nice staff, easy check in, has a wine bar at the reception if you want to take away some wine/beer to your room. Nice morning breakfast. Free parking. Comfortable room and play to stay before starting the golden circle. Would stay again."

"We spent one night here as a fun novelty. Unfortunately it was cloudy, so we didn't see the northern lights or stars but that's ok! It was still a really fun quirky place to stay that was extremely comfortable and cute. Be aware: you can book an ingloo WITH or WITHOUT a bathroom. We booked one without a private bathroom so you have to walk a minute to the common building by the parking lot, it has multiple bathrooms and showers and a little kitchenette with a sink and espresso machine for use. It was like fancy camping. They had fresh towels, shampoo, etc. But we were surprised b/c we didn't read the fine print. Expensive but worth it for us for one night. "

"We were very comfortable staying here! The view across the street was stunning! Beds were comfortable and kitchen had everything we needed. It was easy to find and convenient self check in. It was very hot when we got there first night was rough sleeping even with windows open but we figured out how to control the heat, you have to turn the white nobs on the bottom of the radiators, just FYI for those that come from a place that dosen’t use those types of heater. Other than that we wish we stayed longer! Definitely recommend staying!"

"I loved my stay at the Greenhouse Hotel! It was such a cute and aesthetically pleasing place—every corner felt thoughtfully designed and cozy. The room was clean, comfortable, and had everything I needed for a relaxing stay. Parking was super convenient, which made things even easier. One of the best parts was the food hall connected to the hotel—so many great options right at your fingertips. Would definitely stay here again!"
