"Room was large, very comfortable and clean. Check in and check out was very fast annd efficient. Our room faced the street and we could hear vehicles driving by during the night. Other rooms not facing the road might be quieter. No restaurants or food service on the property and it’s a bit of a walk to the restaurants. "

"Great little apartment and communication about check in was very clear. It was super clean and comfortable. Didn't realize it was several miles from anything to eat or do, but it was winter so that is really on me for not reading description close enough."

"Suite was beautiful. One of the nicest we've stayed in Scotland. Self-serve breakfast and snacks in our suite were delicious, ample, and restocked. Loved it. A little out of the main part of town, but it takes seconds to drive and minutes to walk. "

"On a hill with a great view. Accommodations were excellent. A bit difficult to find for someone not familiar with the area and non-numbered house addresses. Just ask for directions from one of the neighbors you’ll likely find walking their dog and you’ll be fine. "

"The hotel roomed seemed spacious and clean. The shower ran out of hot water first thing in the morning. I had to take a cold shower at 7 in the morning because the warm water just went away and I had the handle turned all the way to hot. Not a great experience. And my husband was charged $10 for a small bowl of cereal and a coffee which is steep. "

"The place is right next to the water - unobstructed view. The 0.7 mile walk to center of Oban was nice in good weather but we got wet several time (expected this for October). Public transportation was hard to find so needed our car. Our room was a little small and cramped, but we could see other larger rooms. Check in and parking was a bit of a hassle. Great “Continental breakfast “ that included meats, cheeses, baked goods and more- well worth the modest cost "

"Sue and Avril really made our stay pleasant. From the moment I had contact with Sue (requesting another night stay) to dinner reservations and afternoon tea when we arrived, she was constantly engaged with us and making our stay at her beautiful Thistle House warm and welcoming. Breakfast in the morning was fabulous and held us on our daily hikes. Avril was always willing to stay and have a lovely conversation about the wonderful breakfast, adorable chickens out back or just the beauty of...

"I had a 2 night business trip so cost was important. The cost was within my allocated budget. The room was well kitted out. Kettle, fridge, ironing facilities, coffee,tea, table to work at, comfortable bed and a tv. Even had a clock alarm at side of bed and a hairdryer. Towels aplenty and a wonderful high pressure shower. I am sure I have not included everything but would highly recomend this guest house to anyone in oban for a short stay."

"Ensuite was across the hall and shared, toilet down the hall - not what I was expecting and floor a bit rickety underfoot. Actual room was good with plenty of space and a view of the bay and across Oban. Easy walking distance to all Oban facilities - train, ferries, buses, shopping, restaurants and pubs. "

"The property is situated a 10 minute drive from the town centre so is well located for any sightseeing that you want to do. The home itself is very spacious, has lots of storage, very comfy beds and cosy lounge room and a large enclosed back yard which was lovely to sit out in and enjoy a drink and our family members two small dogs had a wonderful time exploring in it.
