"Upon arriving, we were cheerfully greeted by Bonita our hostess. Welcomed us with a nice walk-through and shared her wonderful knowledge of herbal teas growing there on the property which looks more like the garden of Eden. The Cottage had everything you needed to make you feel right at home but relaxed. The sculpture garden was such a pleasure to see! Edwardo, artist/ owner, gave us a special viewing of some of private collection. So how can you beat this? How about wild parrots flying about...

"Located in a fantastic river valley with a fascinating heritage of restored water mills, the house makes a great base for exploring the quiet northern part of the island. We enjoyed using one of the BBQs, and having ice cream from the shop next door was a treat. Highly recommended."

"Unique house. Amazing setting. Garden. You can hear the church bells and cows ,which makes it so special. The host is super knowledgeable and helpful. Ricardo met us at the property. Explained everything. Cleaning personnel came every 2 days to straighten the place up, which was very special. Ricardo had a bunch of yummy treats for us to start our vacation "

"It’s a beautiful setting in the garden. The home is roomy and cozy, it has everything you need. It had a musty smell which is typical, I kept the windows open always which got rid of the smell. Windows have screens which is much appreciated! It is below another apartment so you do hear some footsteps and noise. This is why I didn’t give it full stars. You can sometimes hear dogs and loud cars in the distance but it’s not too bothersome."

"Beautiful gated location on the very end of a dead end lane. Gardens are gorgeous with sculptures created by owner and many seating areas throughout the property. Bonita and Ed were very helpful with local issues such as restaurants, shopping, etc."

"My husband and stayed for three nights in late Aug. Rui was amazing with the check in, providing tons of information on the area including hiking spots that we were interested in. There was fresh bread and Dona Amelias (homemade) awaiting us. Both were amazing. The place is simple, cute and clean. We were ready for peace and quiet and that is what we got. I loved starting each day and ending each day staring out that big window at the landscape and the sea. We did not cook, so I cannot comment...
