"Overall a nice Onsen hotel located on the top of the hill. Will be tough if u dun drive. We arrived after last light and it is very dark as there’s no lights going up. But it is still ok. The staff at reception was very helpful to assist in calling a nearby restaurant to check if there’re open for dinner. "

Hotel is advertised as free on-site parking (which is why I chose it), but the parking area is EXTREMELY limited. I arrived to find it full so had to pay for off-site parking, though there are plenty of options nearby. Front desk hours are also limited, so you do want to make sure you are not arriving too late. "It is an older Buddhist temple and feels wonderful to be in a place with such character and history. The meals (all are vegetarian in accordance with Buddhist tradition) are a delicious delight. This is from one who is not a vegetarian! The service is personal and sincerely caring. I would recommend visiting Daisen and staying there. "
