"Guys running it were friendly and happy to help. It is in a good location just 5 minutes walk from the centre of Keswick. Very dog friendly and it was obvious both guys loved dogs. "We thought the hosts were really lovely and the location of the guesthouse was ideal for us for walking. There are two pubs within walking distance which serve fantastic food: Coledale inn and Royal Oak. However, we had a downstairs room and seemed to have been really unlucky with the guests upstairs who woke us up every hour during the night. "We had a wonderful stay. Our room was small but very comfortable with views of the hills. The tea and coffee choices are the best I've ever seen anywhere. Lorna is a lovely host and makes the best breakfast with plenty of choices. The location is approx. 15 minutes walk into Keswick and the Threkeld trail, just down the hill, make walking there better away from the traffic. We would definitely recommend Brookfield and hope to vist again. "

"Grateful to the Greystoke for stepping in at the last minute after a previous booking elsewhere was cancelled. A quiet location but close enough for walking into the town. No problems booking in or during the 3 days stay. Beware of the big breakfasts - you may not want to move afterwards - but they set you up nicely for the day of exploring the area. "Impressive architectural features. Stained glass windows and marble walls and floors in the public areas. The guest rooms need some refurbishment and the bathrooms need modernising, but the hotel ambience and excellent service provided by the staff made our stay very enjoyable."

"Agriculture Inn is a gem! The owners are on site and give personalized attention with a smile! The room was so clean, the food and ale was so delicious, and the castle ruins are across the street. They have a nice beer garden that is well attended by locals and feels very relaxed and comfortable. Not crazy or noisy, just a nice local feel. The bathroom was very small but not an issue for us. I would definitely go back! The history of the building is also very interesting."

"Lovely and clean, reception very helpful. Only issue was vans parked in the disabled bays. Both myself and my Husband have blue badges but each time we stay here there are vans in the disabled bays with no blue badges."
