Dyeing and Hostel NAKASHIMAYA - Caters to Women

1.0 star property
9.4 out of 10, Exceptional, (46)
"About 8 mins walk from local train station. Whole place is so well decorated. Feels dreamy with Ghibli's soundtracks mildly played. The owner speaks great English. Everything is clean and efficient. I stayed in a dorm of 4. The room itself might be a bit small if you have big suitcase. But the space was fair enough for me. Top floor is where you can hang the laundries. You can see Kumamoto castle from there. Overall it was a great stay. Also great value for money."

Nice to have the washing machine in the room and laundromat down the street. Check in was very smooth and staff was very helpful. Great location, lots of nearby pay parking if the spots out front are full. Easy walk to castle, mall and lots of shops. Only con was that the furniture and futon mattresses were a but stained but room...

Espoir

2.5 star property
8.8 out of 10, Excellent, (34)
"Good location with 5-8min walk from bus terminal. The unit is compact with all amenities inlcuding a small kitchen, full size fridge and washing machine. Condition of cooking utensil is excellent. Very efficient communication with the host. The only down side is that the heating is not very efficient. I stayed in a not-so-cold day (10 degrees), it still take hours to warm up the room, to an extent that i dont feel freezing, but still I need to put on my sweater to keep myself warm."
