"I was really excited to see what it would be like on a canal boat. One of the first things that happened was a pair of swans floated by. Pretty cool. The location of the boat was in the middle of everything. A great jumping off point to tour the center of Amsterdam. I enjoyed my accommodation and exploring the city. "

"The boat is very basic but is in a great location not far from the centre of old Amsterdam. (Ignore Diemen as the location). It’s very cheap for Amsterdam which makes up for its basic amenities. You can make use of facilities in nearby cafes and the Public library. The surrounding area is just off the tourist route so you get to see how locals live. Cees was a great host, very accessible and happy to help out and give advice."

"We had a truly wonderful stay on Robertino and Carl's boat. The property is stunning, beautifully situated and equipped with every amenity you could think of. We enjoyed cooking in their well stocked kitchen, spent our evenings on deck watching the defilé of boats pass by and slept deeply on the very comfortable beds. "we were surprised at how big the houseboat was, uitgeest is a lovely place and the view of the lake and sky was stunning. the only little annoyances were: - there was no lamp in the living area and the lighting was a bit too bright - there was a toaster oven instead of a toaster - we had to make the beds ourselves which i'm perfectly willing to do in a hostel but don't really want to do when we're paying hundreds of pounds and have had no sleep on the journey there (also the bedding and...

"My husband and I stayed at Hotel Casa for a week in Amsterdam. We were a little hesitant because it is outside the city centre. However, we are very happy we made the decision to stay here. It is a quiet area that provided a refuge from the hustle and bustle of the city center. Central station is less than a 10 minute ride from Amstel Station, which is right next to the hotel. Day trips were also cheaper from Amstel Station. The hotel was clean and quiet, with rooms bigger than normal for Europe. Staff were fabulous. They were kind and helpful and really made us feel welcome and at home. Bed was comfortable, shower was clean and had sufficient hot water. We would definitely stay here again. "
