"My family and I spent another vacation week at the Peace of Paradise Lake House hosted by Anne. Trying to find time as a family for 3 grown boys with busy careers and one married is impossible except when it comes to the Lake House. I gave them the dates and they made the time to show up. We checked on Friday and by 4:30PM the boat was at the dock and tee times were made for two rounds of golf. We have stayed at the Lake House many times and we have no intention of going to any other...

"It was really cute even though it’s slanted. Definitely has that old home character. With it being an older home, things like tripping a breaker when the stove is on, washer running and space heaters on, happens. The service guy was great. We enjoyed it. "

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the lake. SML is truly my happy place. The house had a great view of the main channel and Bridgewater Marina. Oh, and the sunsets! Wow. We always love sharing the lake with our dogs who love to swim! Would rent again if there was a floating dock. The slope is steep and riprap challenging for the dogs to get in and out of the water. Checkin was a breeze. Kitchen is well equipped. Open shelves are cute. Suggest adding shelves to the pantry so we could put food...

"The property was perfect for our stay. Gorgeous views from a clean and well stocked townhome. Close enough to local eateries but far enough out to be semi-private. Seems to be a perfect property year round. "

"The house is in a great location and was comfortable. We enjoyed our stay. The house, yard and especially the dock need a lot of maintainence and repairs. The upper deck of the dock was closed due to needed maintenance which was not disclosed. We had a fire alarm go off which brought out several fire trucks an hour after we arrived. Apparently it was a glitch in the system that has happened before. "

"We absolutely loved this property! It doesn’t matter if you walk out front or out back, you have an amazing view. You really don’t have to leave the property if you don’t want to. But if you do, there’s a ton of fun outdoor activities in the area. We will be back!"

"A friend and I met for our annual girls weekend. We were both impressed by how nicely done the house was and especially the cleanliness. The sectional sofa is super comfy, as are beds. The owners were extremely responsive and kind. We purposely picked a spot that would be quiet and this was it. If you are looking for a getaway with a lot to do in the local area it might not be the best fit but if you want beautiful countryside and a comfortable, well kept home, this is a perfect location for...

"We had a family Christmas gathering in this beautiful house. We all live in different parts of the country and this location was central. We used the house as a base, but only two families stayed here. Everything from the cleanliness to the well equipped kitchen and the little amenities was perfect. The view of the lake was an extra bonus and the game room was a great addition for the kids and kids at heart in the group. I highly recommend this house and hope to return in the future."

"What a gorgeous home. Watching the sunrise from the balcony, sipping my coffee, seeing the deer play and the early morning fishers was absolute perfection."

"My two girlfriends and I wanted to do the Triple Crown as separate day hikes. This was the perfect place to stay--only 15-20 min from the trailheads. Roanoke had plenty to offer for after our hikes and Emily's house was very comfortable to stay and cook dinners at night. We would definitely stay here again for future hiking trips."
