"Came in late and only stayed 1 night. On arrival, property is in nice area and looks nice. Rooms are dated. There was a hole in the shower wall the size of a quarter and bathroom baseboards were dirty. Beds are very soft. Exercise room is small but functional. We didn't take the time to check out the pool. "The staff was very friendly. The stay was convertible. But very disappointed at the continental breakfast. Only 2 pieces of french toast. A few biscuits, dry cereal and bread. The coffee was empty. Breakfast was at 6am. And this was at 7:25am. Sent my daughter to Casey's to bring back some warm breakfast. "

"This hotel is not only beautiful but full of history! Our room was wonderful, so clean & bright. All the staff were friendly & helpful. Within walking distance of Amana shops & restaurants. Would highly recommend!!"

"We enjoyed the pool and hot tub. Check-in and Check-out was easy. The breakfast was good and happy to see they were able to have egg options available. It was very helpful since I need to eat gluten free. "

Clean rooms with a great lounge and fun history

"Hotel was easy to find and parking was easily accessible. Staff was very nice and helpful and check in was very easy, even after posted hours. Rooms were clean and cozy, although old electrical and plumbing makes for a constant humm noise. Nonetheless, the history and architecture of the building were fun to learn about. The restaurant "Periodic Table" was a fun lounge with games including Scrabble, shuffleboard, and skeeball, along with card games. If you are a gamer, you'll love hanging out in the lounge, bring an extra set of your favorite card game to donate as the games have clearly seen better days! Due to visiting during the off-season, breakfast was not available, so we received vouchers for nearby restaurants. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would recommend booking here if you are visiting Grinnel College or just the town. "
