"When we arrived at our place we were relieved as the drive up the mountain was a bit scary the closer we got. When we opened the doors we were ecstatic at how nice the house was. Better than the online pictures. So much space and the views were breathtaking and different every morning. Wildlife out our back door. So many fire flies. Henné the property manager was so friendly and accommodating and helpful. Brought us coffee even after I said we were going for our own she arrived to meet us...

"Unbelievably stunning setting. You will need to be a confident driver to manage the roads up to the house as the roads are steep and winding as you would expect in Tuscany. The smell of Jasmine and the natural peaceful surrounding beauty is amazing. We used the pool everyday and enjoyed a bbq too. We loved the little lizards, flamboyant butterflies and stargazing at night. There is a great cafe about 29 minutes walking up the hill with a lovely atmosphere and a small local shop to get essentials...

"We loved our stay at the villa. There was plenty of room and the kids loved the pool. The hosts were helpful. There is plenty to do in the surrounding area and the cities of Lucca, Pisa and Florence are outstanding. The nearer towns of Barga and Castelnuovo are also very attractive. The area has recently been a center of attention on BBC with Amanda Holden, Rob Rinder and Clive Myrie. However, if you don't like heights and hairpin bends up a mountainside, this might not be the villa for you."

"We had a wonderful 3 week stay with 8 adults and later 8 adults and 2 children. The property was as depicted with well maintained pool and yard, outdoor dining area, well equipped kitchen. It is on 3 levels with connecting spiral staircase plus a loft. Sarah was a wonderful host, very helpful and responsive. "We spent a wonderfully relaxing week here with our adult children at the beginning of September. The house is beautifully situated and we made abundant use of the lovely outdoor spaces. The pool is superb and there are plenty of solid, comfortable loungers. The pool is not fenced off, though, so possibly not one for tiny children. "We had a fabulous three weeks at Villa Cavani. The location and views were stunning and we absolutely loved the pool (which was amazing), outside kitchen and outside eating area. We had great fun making our own pizzas and ate outside every evening. The villa was well equipped in the main (enough crockery for a party!)- although an electic kettle would have been great!
