But the big disappointment is having to pay for car parking even overnight. We noted that many car parks in Winchester were free on Sundays. I did know about this prior to booking. Also taking a £50 deposit showed a lack of trust in customers. I think the car parking charges are unpopular with the hotel's customers."

"Seemed a workman’s stop over. Which is a shame as lots of space and it was empty except for a few men in high vis. However the lovely ladies behind the bar cheered the place up. One menu - so no-one was in the huge restaurant. I would have ordered room service if it was possible. Expensive food/drink for setting. Really comfy bed, quiet and rooms were fine."
