"We were looking for a spot where we could hang out as a family of 16 coming from 7 spots around the US and Canada. This house worked well with plenty of bedrooms for adult children couples with ensuite bathrooms. Large bunk room for children, in door game/activity space and lots of outdoor space with a great pool for activity. The kids loved the over-the-top palace feel of the mansion. "The Pros: The property was comfortable and clean. The Cons: The keypad for the door was confusing and difficult to use. We ended up getting locked out in the dark for almost 15 minutes because it took 12 tries to get it to unlock, and it had a 10-minute lock-out after 10 failed tries. The kitchen is woefully under-equipped. The cooking and serving implements as sparse and mismatched. It was very difficult to prepare and serve meals. "This house is AMAZING! It's very difficult to find 5 bedroom houses that are reasonably priced for our annual fall get together. We have family members from Ohio, Iowa, and Missouri that gather for a weekend of reconnecting and fun. The Kane Family Farm right next door to the house made this year's reunion one of the best. The game room is awesome, the bedrooms are huge, and beds are very comfortable. Overall, one of the best houses we have ever rented."

"Pros - Beautiful location and kids had an amazing time skipping stones in the river. Con’s - the downstairs toilet ran so we had to turn the water to it off, the kitchen faucet wasn’t just a little wiggly (you could tilt it back and forth/side to side), and there was what appeared to be a whole load of dirty dishes someone had unloaded in the cupboard/shelves. Main bedroom bed was also very hard. (All were reported to property manager so hopefully no one experiences this going forward). We...

"This was a great setting for our girls’ weekend. The house was so well-equipped and close to downtown Ottawa and the state parks. This was actually our second time here, and I don’t expect it’ll be the last!"

"Property states that it sleeps 4, but really only 1 king and smaller Murphy bed accommodate 3 comfortably. A sleeper sofa would make it more amenable to 4 guests, also, shower drain was slow and water built up during the shower. Management/cleaning company should be checking these things, otherwise really nice."

"This was a perfect spot to stay with friends. We didn’t take advantage of the water but loved the views. Close to great places to eat and those that deliver!"

"The house seemed new and very clean. It has a nice view of the water from the porch. We liked that we could get into town in about 5 minutes and were about 20 minutes from Starved Rock. There is a nice restaurant in the subdivision if you wanted to get out for food or a drink but not wanting to drive into town. No complaints at all."
