"Overall this was a great place for a getaway with my husband! The cottage is very well done. It's incredibly clean, well stocked, and the furnishings and supplies are quite nice. The view is absolutely gorgeous and very peaceful. The "downsides" were that a bridge is under construction until late 2025 in the area so it takes longer to get to any stores. The last 5 minutes to the property are complete gravel roads and the very last part is a little steep. It's secluded but there is a house next...

Anything we needed--extra blankets, coffee filters, a colander--was there, and Bob even stopped by to give us some advice about navigating the property through the snow. "We had a wonderful stay at this property. The view from the back yard was spectacular. The beds were firm but comfortable, plenty of towels in the bathroom including soap shampoo and conditioner. "Clean and organized cottage, everything you need for a pleasant stay. Just be aware no wifi and no cell phone reception inside the house and poor reception outside (Verizon). There is a couple of miles to drive on unpaved and at time rough terrain but we did not have problems with our minivan.Great location right in front of the river. "We made a great choice in choosing the Riverfront Retreat for our Thanksgiving celebration. The large dining table fit our group and its close proximity to the kitchen made serving and cleanup a breeze. One bedroom is set apart from the others which worked perfectly for one couple who ducked out at 5am to catch a flight out of Dulles (about an hours drive) without disturbing others in the group. We enjoyed hiking in Seven Bends State Park and even toured the Shenandoah Caverns (a short drive)....
