It felt like such a genuine, honest, real place - somewhere we could relax and breathe easily, in contrast to the massive chain hotel we had just been staying in in Liverpool, where sheer numbers of guests led inevitably to a dehumanized, mass-produced feel. "Amazing. Right from the start the staff were friendly, polite and welcoming. Food was delicious - we ate at the hotel for dinner - having the 'pigs' in blanket sharing starter and then both steak pies. Next morning - breakfast was great - although there was no 'bacon' for us - the server compensated by offering us additional sausages - so it wasn't too much of a disappointment. "

"Stayed 2 nights in Feb. Very comfortable bed and well presented room. The Inn itself was quiet and so lacked a little atmosphere but then it was mid-week. The food was excellent, I especially liked the salmon and the mushroom risotto was splendid. We would have eaten there again on the second night but the vegetarian options were limited. I'm sure the chef would have come up with something suitable but we wanted to explore other eating options locally anyway. Breakfast was plentiful and the bar...
