"As you descend down the drive you become absorbed into tranquility. You immediately realize that this is your chance to become one with nature. The drive opens to the cabin and pond. You spend your team surrounded by nothing but nature. It was just what we needed and we got some amazing pictures and have some phenomenal memories to take us until our next adventure. "Ensure you have AWD or 4WD and good tires. It’s a 10 miles drive on a very muddy/gravel, low maintained road with lots of holes. There were several times my van almost got stuck and I was sliding all over the road. The tree and water fountain were very cute but there were 2 dead mice around the bottom of the tree, inside the cabin. The road/driveway outside of the cabin was pure mud deep mud. "This cabin was just PERFECT! Had absolutely everything we needed was quiet and serene yet not remote. A quick 15 minute ride into downtown Galena. Fair enough a way to avoid crowds on a holiday weekend yet quick and easy to get to town. Loved seeing the steer on the lawn/pasture above and below the cabin. We had a tiny issue checking in, but the property manager was very responsive and took care of it right away. Highly recommend staying here "

In that moment I could picture it filled with friends from various areas of my life, all together under this giant roof for one weekend.
