"This is a lovely property but there were a few issues. As others stated, because most dealings are with the bar downstairs, timing is limiting. We had no issues with checkin, except one of our card keys didn’t work. An app was offered, but was challenging. The room was large, comfortable, and well appointed. However, the noise level in this area of town on a Thur-Sat was very loud, particularly between 12am-2am, which is our prime sleep time. The room next door was very loud. This is a GREAT...

"Nice hotel with a good restaurant. The restaurant was crowded and loud but the food was great. Jazz band at the bar was a plus! We stayed in the “historic” part of the hotel. The room was large and very nice - however the walls were very thin and we could hear “everything” going on in the room next to us."

"Very charming historic inn. Staff was nice and helpful upon check-in, and when i accidentally locked my key in the room. I booked the Bouvier room on the 3rd floor which was quiet and comfortable. Being a historic inn, I went in with the expectation that it would be low frills, which is was. But for the price, I think it's a great option for anyone staying in the Newtown area who wants historic charm and to be in the walkable State Street area. "

"We were greeted by a man in a tattered sweatshirt in the main house. Then We were taken to the room in a carriage house across a dark parking lot. There were no lights in the entry and there was an sunken entry to the room we nearly fell into the room. There were remains from the previous logger including dirty glasses and trash.
