"It’s important to keep one’s expectations in check. Is this an immaculate luxury hotel? No, it’s dated and a little rough around the edges. But the bathroom, beds, and shared kitchen were clean. Gurdev, one of the directors, was helpful and friendly and gives out his number in case you need anything. "The Shed Retreat is an ideal getaway location for a Rotorua visit. It's only 20 minutes from the city centre but feels miles away given its rural locale. Great interior decor, a super-comfy bed and of course the cedar spa pool with its view is outstanding. Can't recommend it highly enough."
