"Booking and communication good. House nice and as advertised. Good location and easy to find and close to local amenities. Ok for a couple of nights. These are my constructive observations/recommendations: 1. Please supply bath mats in the bathrooms. There was nothing and the floors were soaked after a shower as the shower screen leaked. Also for Health and Safety. 2. Towels are very thin and small. You may need to supplement with your own if you're visiting and this kind of thing bothers...

"The owner had doulbe booked this property on Vrbo and another major booking platform (think BnB). No arrival details were provided to us before hand but we turned up to the address anyway and attempted to ring the host's contact number...no answer. We knocked on the door to find other guests already staying there who had booked it the other major booking platform and who had been in contact with the host (named John) all day. This disastrous start to the trip left us frantically looking for...

"Really enjoyed our stay at 1 Brook House. Very comfortable cottage, charming decor and plenty of room. It was the ideal base for our day walks in the Peak District. "

"Lovely quiet location, beautiful gardens. Our son loved the tree ladders! Beautiful views from the decked areas and of course the hot tub topped it all off. Great communication from the owner paul. We'll definitely be back for another chilled weekend. "

"We had a great stay, everything we needed for our stay including some welcome essentials (beer, wine, milk, butter, etc.) in a very well equipped kitchen(s)...plenty of parking. Great bedrooms and lots of spacious social space. Good communication throughout. Would happily stay again if we hold another group get together."

"The property inside was ok. However, having bathroom flooring on the walls of the bathroom is a bit bizarre. The area is not a good area and parking is not allowed in the secure parking, just on a side road."

"Acer Cottage is ideally situated for exploring the area. Tideswell is peaceful yet very well served with essential services. It was a treat to find the Merchant’s Yard just steps away and the bakery was great too. The cottage itself was equipped and furnished to a high level and communication before arrival was excellent. "This is spacious home from home, well equipped and clean. There was excellent communication with the owner who was very helpful. Toys and stairgate were provided for our toddler and the garden was great for outdoor play. We stayed only for 2 nights whilst in the area for a wedding, so cannot really comment on the surrounding area but it seemed very nice from the little we saw. Would not hesitate to recommend"
