"The hostel location was really close to Buchenkamp U-Bahn station. ALDI supermarket was at the end of the road. The communication, via email and text messages, before arrival with the property manager was very good and the pre-arrival were instructions very clear (albeit some communication was in German). "The property is located on a side street, which is wonderful. It is quiet and sleeping works well. These are singke rooms but each floor has a shared bathroom, which I didn't realize. "all are normally except there is no lift (we were on the 4th floor) and the worst bit is every floor has a phone in the corridor, in the evening when people (in my case a drunk), forget their keys (not manned 24 hrs per day), he or she would ring the bell downstairs and all phones on all floor will ring, this waked me up at least over 3 occasions when sleep is the key factor of any hotel room choices."

"This place is in a very sketchy part of town, only a 10 minute walk from central station but you're better off going in any other direction. You'll see people selling stolen phones on the street outside. No one speaks English here, and hardly any German at that. Then there are signs for 'Wira Massage' on a floor above. No lockers and the showers are in the cellar (or dirty basement). The linen that they charge you 3€ extra didn't even fit on the bed and then there was a druggie in the room...
