"We saw a little more of Lausanne than we, thanks to some road work and detours. But once we made our way to Hotel Elite, everything was great for a quick visit. The 5-minute walk from the train station with luggage turned into 25 minutes, but it paid off with a comfortable, spacious room in this handsome hotel — with an elevator. We had our choice of restaurants within a short walk that night and were on the edge of the historic City Center for a walking tour the next day. The route to the Cathedral has some steep stretches, so we used the convenient Metro to reach it and work our way back down hill. Our stay included a hearty, hot breakfast in a cozy dining room.
