"Our stay at the Encantada Arenal was wonderful Marty and Nita are super hosts, and their property is amazing! It was fun sitting having coffe in the morning and watching the Tucans eat the fruit off the tree outside the cottage. The views are amazing and the people are so nice and warm and friendly. The view of lake Arenal is spectacular and the volcano is amazing. There is so much to do there you will never be bored.We look forward to our next trip back to Encantada Arenal."

"The Casita was just as advertised. Small but didn't feel small. We were nervous about the size before moving in but it felt the right size and we didn't feel crowded or closed in. It had everything that we needed and expected. The view was great and the location was fine. We had a car so getting to groceries etc. was not a problem. Barbara and Lawrence were great hosts. We really enjoyed Lawrence's band practices. All in all a great stay."

"Very clean and comfortable house surrounded by the forest. Kitchen is fully equipped. The dirt path towards the house needs work otherwise your car could get stuck. definitely need a 4 wheeler vehicle. We saw monkeys and toucans in the morning. Very calm and quiet stay it was. Wonderful hosts provided great activity suggestions, directions to nearby attractions, and even let us use their doggies for trail guides as we hiked around the area. The apartment is comfortable and the pool is inviting. The view was awe inspiring, particularly at sunset. The sunset color show goes on long past sunset."

"Unfortunately, when we arrived at the property - around 5 p.m., it was to discover that, in spite of our reservation, there were no rooms available. The manager/owner was very apologetic for the mix-up and made several calls to secure alternate accomodation for us. However, that was more expensive and we needed to move from one place to another to cover our 4 day stay with 2 nights in each place. It was pretty disappointing!"

"If you value privacy and respect this is NOT the place for you. The Good: our family thoroughly enjoyed the Arenal area. Los Lagos was great for kids and adults. Hot springs,water slides and lunch, all for 100 bucks US. It’s a must visit. The area is gorgeous, if you have an extra couple of days it’s a great way to end your trip before flying home.The bad: This is ALL true. Had golf cart parked on our parking space and when we tried driving around it to get to our unit we scratched car on the hedges which is unfortunate as it is a rental car. Some issues with bugs getting into the house which we had to remove as one of the members in our family was bug phobic. "
