"Traveled to Sosua with my 10 year old daughter in December. We didn't want to stay in a resort so we could get the flavor for the culture and locals. I was a bit nervous due to the known night scene but I felt very safe at Casa Valeria. The owners were on site often and were wonderful. The pool was perfect in the evenings and after the beach. The restaurant was great. The made to order breakfast included was excellent! Our room was very nice and the staff overall was great. If you are in a room facing the street it can be a bit noisy with scooter/car traffic but it didn't bother us. The location of the hotel was perfect. Turn left 5 minute walk to Sosua Beach with was fun and lively and had a more local vibe (with people trying to sell you everything under the sun which could get annoying but you just have to firmly say no) and turn right out of the hotel 3 minute walk to Playa Alicia with was more chill and tourist feeling but with bigger waves/current. We did one excursion to Monkey Jungle and did the ziplining and monkey exhibit and it was great. Casa Valeria was an excellent choice and the cutest boutique hotel in the area if you are not wanted to stay at a big resort. Would definitely stay there again."

"Lot's to say about this property. First, it was a beautiful beach and location. Just so you can compare, I purchased the Adults only all inclusive with no additional upgrades. The drinks were fine. We drank Pina Coladas most of the time and asked for doubles. It was nice that they would use my personal Camelbak cup to fill when I asked. As far as food goes, the buffet sucked. The food was okay but it was always luke warm and never hot. We learned right away to reserve one of the 4 restaurants for dinner each night and was happy with the food there. Also, we ordered sandwiches from the bar area which was pretty good also. So we only used the buffet for breakfast and they had an egg station so at least that was cooked to order and hot. The beach was small and and closed a few days because of weather. Regardless of weather I should have at least been able to sit on the beach without going into the water. Also the beach front was very steep going into the water so the waves broke close and hard. I like to body surf and that was NOT the place to do it. The staff was great. Our room was great and have a beautiful view of the ocean. I enjoy a good buffet and would not return here unless they could increase the quality of the food. Otherwise it was a great value vacation. "
