"I should have checked first if there were lifts, unfortunately none, we were on second floor we both have poor mobility it was a struggle but a member of staff did help with suitcase. We also assumed we could get dinner but wrong again, they only do breakfast which was not great. At least there are many restaurants nearby. We found a lovely Italian one. The room was very good, but crumbs on floor at my bedside, not amused. We wouldn't go back."

"After my friends came down with sickness and couldn’t host us anymore I was worried about a backup plan the day off on a busy weekend. The Woodhouse was available at a fair price! It’s cute, cozy, has great views, is very walkable and has a great atmosphere! The breakfast for £7 more was well worth it! The people who own and run this are amazing! So kind and helpful! Will be staying again even if my family is healthy! "

"This is a great guest house and who includes breakfast anymore?? My cousin and I stayed for one night and our room was very warm, cozy, and the owner made us very welcome. He went above and beyond with breakfast the next morning and cooked up custom meals for each of us! I would definitely stay here again since it is in an excellent location, within walking distance to the Largs train station, and who doesn’t love excellent hospitality and service?! Highly recommended"

"We spent the New Year on Bute and the was in the perfect location not only for its views over the Firth, but also for exploring the rest of the island.
