"The room was very nice in first appearance, but as you look a little closer it was a bit tired and in need of a bit of updating/painting. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful although breakfast staff seemed a little overwhelmed sometimes, eg I asked for toast with my breakfast on the first morning but it never came even after asking twice. "The stay was great. Me and my partner would deffo come again, the only 2/3 issues we had were the shower and bed. The bed- was very noisy. You would either just sit on it or move to a comfier position and it would sound like it’s waking the whole hotel up. "The room was clean and quiet and the bed comfortable and the towels and bedding clean. The shower worked well but the shower curtain was tied up at the bottom meaning that the floor got wet. I managed to lose 2 of my 3 morning pills down the sink which has no plug in it which also meant wasting water in order to shave. "Vivienne was very helpful and full of information! The house is lovely and right on the bus line to take you to the major attractions (and hop on hop off busses). It’s even walkable. The room was small, but functional, as advertised. We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Edinburgh!"

"The area was lovely and a nice walk uphill towards Edinburgh centre. The room was incredibly clean, brew facilities in room available, working heater and tv, comfy bed. The owner was very warm and welcoming, breakfast is available also which is a pro for some. Only cons: bad shower pressure, jammy door lock, and jammy window"

"We enjoyed our stay - the room was large and spacious, however it would have been helpful to have a small fridge. We stayed for the week but the first night seemed to be karaoke night, so it was on the loud side until about midnight All in all the space was great"

"By far the best area to stay in as it’s close to everything and the facility is amazing on top! As you stand at the front door you have the most up close & amazing view of Edinburgh Castle (which is fully lit up at night). Directly across the street are the most amazing restaurants that truly you don’t need to eat anywhere else. If weather is not the best- U we is quick and reasonable. Facility pool/sauna is a nice add on when doing a lot of walking about and the breakfast add on is big and delicious (you can adjust it depending on your tastes but we did the full breakfast with it all in and it was amazing, including the haggis. You MUST let your tastebuds do the talking in haggis and NOT your mind. It is fabulous!). Staff very courteous and they do provide online options and bag storage. Overall- great spot & great value for the money! "

"Pods were clean and bathrooms were clean. Location is within Edinburgh old town so it’s quite close to many attractions such as St Giles, National Museum of Scotland and 10-15 min walk to many other sites such as Holyrood Palace and Dean Village. "

"Spotlessly clean hotel, nice rooms, very comfortable beds, new towels, large TV, good toilet and shower room. Staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast was continental and good selection for all tastes. Easy check in and lovely bar area. Recommend "
