"It's a 5-room 2-story building. The manager is onsite most of the time. The bed in a higher loft with a stair. Also a sofa bed. No desk. It is in an alley hard to find. Taxi to a nearby hotel instead (call manager for direction), and don't do map navi. Good location, just blocks away from a big shopping area and restaurants, and a temple. The lady manager is actually managing a traditional Chinese dress try and photo store. The only issue was there are some mosquitoes (was there in May). "

"An amazing stay in Kevin's old house, the room was lovely, large and had nice furniture and all the features needed for a comfortable stay. The staff were amazing throughout the stay, helping wherever they can. The location is easily accessible to train stations and metro to the wider Shanghai area with two metro stations nearby. The breakfast was great and we are looking forward to staying there again when we can next visit Shanghai"

"Good place to stay, dorm style for smaller rooms unless you have a suite. Close to everything you’d want to do in the area, there’s an awesome cafe right down the street called D3 that’s worth checking out."

"Small boutique hotel in a very good location (next to subway, close to attractions). The hotel was quiet, staff were very friendly. Even the cheapest room was very spacious. It was superb value for the price. Only downside was shower had a bit of mould on the seals (more a design flaw as moisture can’t escape). "

"The experience at the Zhujiajiao Teahouse Boutique Inn was disappointing. We had to move from our first room because the AC was not working properly. Our new room was a block away from the main building which was odd. This room was supposed to be an upgrade but we saw it as a down grade due to the WiFi and TV not working, a dead cockroach on the floor next to our bed and the bathroom was quite dirty. Luckily, the AC worked in this room. We will not recommend this hotel to anyone. "

"I had an excellent time staying at Soochow 1779. The staff members do not speak English, but they will readily use translation apps to communicate with you--and if you speak Mandarin, they will be incredibly helpful. The breakfasts are fantastic; every day, different Suzhou specialities (mostly different kinds of dumplings and buns) are served with congee, pickles, and fruit. The rooms are well maintained, though the building is, indeed, 240 years old, and sound is transferred fairly easily...

"I only stayed a couple of days and can't say anything bad. The hotel isn't that great but the room and bathroom were clean. One of the best places for this price point. I had to book the day before and it was convenient cause of location. Also, I needed an updated copy of the police registration and the staff helped me out with that (I speak a bit of Chinese so that helped. They didn't seem to know much english though). "The hotel locates on the departure level of HongQiao airport terminal 2, about 50 meters from the check in counters. I flew in, so it was super nice I didn’t need to drag the luggages around to find a taxi or walk far at all. Its walking distance to terminal 1, high speed train station and long distance bus terminals includes HongQiao-Pudong shuttle line. There are 2 metro lines you can take to the city center, and then other lines can take you to anywhere in Shanghai. Many restaurants or fast food chains in the terminals or around the train stations. The convention center and the Hongqiao CBD mall is also talking distance. You’ll find plenty of nice foods, shopping and entertainment there. It only took me 15 minutes on foot."

"Amazing hotel!!! The staff really made it great especially the lady that was cleaning my room. I rated it 3 stars for the area around the property because I feel like the location would be better as it was a bit far from everything, the Mixc mall kind of made up for it but personally I would have liked it better if it was closer to central, or on the other side near the Shanghai Towers. I liked how there was privacy and it was not a busy hotel "

Comfortable Stay in Shanghai

"Very comfortable stay at the Shangri-la Jing’An. Comfortable furnishings, lots of space and amazing views. The 24hr gym on the 4th Floor is a great space to go when recovering from jet lag. Location is perfect and restaurants Calypso and 1515 were delicious "
