The location of the house was also great because we were close to many of the popular things to see in Iceland but also far enough away from the more populated areas which meant we got to see the northern lights. "We stayed four nights here in January 2025. Had a wonderful time. Photos are accurate, and kitchen is well stocked. It feels like staying at a friend’s cabin. We caught the northern lights two out of four nights. It’s a great base location to explore the Golden Circle sights. Vista I’m from the porch is spectacular. We had a great time there and would definitely go back. "

"This cottage was a great place to stay while exploring the golden circle. It is in a very quiet area, away from city lights for a better chance to see the northern lights. The natural hot tub was a great place to relax in the evenings and the unique glass bubble bedroom is just amazing! It’s set up well to keep you plenty warm at night."

"Loved staying here. We only had one unplanned surprise. We may have missed this in the listing but the instructions ask you to take all your trash with you. We drove hours with our son holding a full bag of trash until we found a place to dispose of it. We actually named our bag since he travelled with us for so long. Other than our bag of trash, it was a nice stay."

"We couldn't of ask for anything better! Perfect location, out in the country yet close to horseback riding and white water rafting. A cute store near by and Secret Lagoon less than 10 minutes away. The house was so cozy and stocked with all sorts of cooking supplies. The deck and the hot tub were great. The host was awesome and shared with us places to visit and restaurants to try. Absolutely loved everything."

"Karl and his wife were very accommodating—there was a problem with the original property we booked with them, so they offered us a bigger and nicer cottage for the same price. It was in a very remote area, which we loved. Very cozy, and the hot tub was lovely. Communication was great as well. Thanks very much!!"

"It was a very nice cottage in a great location. It is definitely small house living but was plenty big enough for my wife and I. The kitchen was well stocked and everything was in very good condition. The living area was well windowed and the views were spectacular. Very peaceful and serene, but not too far from a bunch of really good eating places as well as Selfoss, which was a much larger town than I expected."
