"Here's the deal with the Carambola in the opinion from someone who has been coming there for over a decade. It was once a stunning eco resort covered with tropical plants and beautiful 'bungalows' nestled into a secluded tropical cove. Then came the hurricanes and FEMA and lack of infrastructure support and hence all the very poor reviews over the past few years. "The setting is absoslutely stunning with waves crashing up around the restaurant. Walking distance to beautiful beach with amazing snorkeling and diving. But know that there is no breakfast at the hotel or nearby, so if you are a breakfast eater, you have to drive into Christianstead, 25 minutes away. We had a great time and figured out a rhythm that worked. "
