"First time here. Lovely looking hotel. Check in was quick but wasn’t really shown where to go by staff. Found the lift but wasn’t explained about needing our card to scan for lift to go up. Messing for a while before a lady explained what to do. Room was on the front and yet was extremely quiet. Perfect as next to train station. Breakfast was great and waiting staff were polite and helpful. Would definitely stay again "

"Visited for our 32nd wedding anniversary and was not disappointed. Booked a classic double room but when we arrived were informed that they upgraded us to an executive room which was really large and immaculately prepared. We had use of the spa facilities if needed for additional cost but free use of the swimming pool, jacuzzi and sauna for 1 hour per day which made for a relaxing time after a long walk around York. Breakfast was really nice with a large choice of continental and cooked...

Upon entry the reception, lobby, dining and bar areas are impressive displaying hardwood panelled walls, stained glass windows and various antiques. "Great 2 night stay. Room was ready on arrival at lunchtime which was a huge bonus. Staff very friendly The hotel was very clean and well decorated. Superb breakfast which set us up for the day. Near the train station and within walking distance to the shops and restaurants."
