The hotel is at the city, very easily accessible.

Earthquake in Kaikoura
We were staying there the night the 7.6+ quake hit. We were in a well equipped studio apartment. The dishes and glasses were sitting on open shelves and were flung across the room and exploded like fire works during the quake. The building is concrete so suffered a good deal of structural damage and I imagine won't be opening again any time soon. Which is probably for the best considering that all roads are closed going in and out of town. The tunnels collapsed on the highway and there is no timeline for repairs. The staff did an awesome job of accounting for all people and then evacuated them to higher ground as per the tsunami warning. We spent the rest of our trip In a farmers field with no camping gear waiting for the military to evacuate us on ships. We ended up having to charter a private 3 seater plane to get us out of there. At the time we left there was still no power, no water, no cell service and no grocery stores or gasoline stations were open.

View from bedroom to snow capped mountains, bbq area to cook our freshly caught crayfish & fish, owners went out of way to help with pot to cook crays & bbq appliances even sauce!

Kaikoura
The room was spacious and well decorated. Shower had plenty of water pressure but was prone to losing and gaining the hot water. Our room was on the highway side but was realatively quiet considering the amount of heavy traffic passing by. Went to Tuti restaurant for dinner, approx 1.2km easy walk - popular restaurant with good selection on menu, cooked well.

easy check in. spacious king room on top floor at rear. good balcony. our room didn't have a view of the water but others did which would be good. kitchenette useful and nice bathroom. near supermarket.

The view of our place is amazing and the place is comfortable and clean. The floors are heated which a bonus. The place is quiet and it's near to a supermarket nearby to get daily stuff. Love it!

Would stay again.
Stayed in one bedroom suite. Great size. Ensure bathroom. Bed very comfortable. Great location but necessary to drive into main town. Manager very friendly and recommended great places to eat and visit. Only negative is the noise reduction heater. Couldn't keep it on at night as it was too noisy.

Quality place to stay
Very friendly reception, recommended places for good Crayfish and called the restaurant (Green Dolphin) to get us a reservation, which was great as when we arrived they were packed a virtually turning people away. Very nice room with good bed, seperate kitchen and bathroom. A little way from the main beach road but we walked it back ok, took about half an hour to the very other end. Near plenty of shops and a modern New World.

Pleasant for a one night stopover
Friendly staff let us check in a bit early. Rooms were well appointed. Ours was very private but some rooms were less so as they were on the route to reception. A little way out of town but shops and restaurants close by.

Good service
We stayed here for 3 nights at the beginning of January. The motel is a good 10min walk from the main Esplanade with the restaurants and gift shops but the weather was good so we didn't mind. There was a couple of restaurants close by (we didn't try them) and a New World supermarket (which we can recommend). The room itself was large, clean and airy and had a patio with table and chairs, a small table for dining and a well stocked kitchenette. The owners were organised and very helpful. Would recommend...
