"This was my second visit one of the best hotels in the Savegre Valley for birders. The accommodations are excellent (including heating in the rooms & hot showers!), with the mountain-view villas being especially good for birders. A major bonus is a wonderful bird-feeding area attracting lots of hummingbirds & frugivores. The only drawback on this visit was the disappointing meals on our first evening - I hope just a reflection of temporary staffing problems. Fortunately excellent restaurants...

"We loved the nature around Trogon Lodge. The landscaping was amazing, and my son loved watching the trout in the pond. We loved all the birds and the hiking trails. The grounds of Trogon Lodge were so lush and beautiful, and photos cannot capture their enchanting beauty. For people with mobility issues, be aware that the lodge is a steep slope and could be difficult for some. Also, it is advisable to pack wisely so you don't bring unnecessary luggage up to the room, as it is a trek carrying it. "

"Well, where do I start!I have had the best time! The place is so peaceful and beautiful, the perfect place to rest and recharge with nature. The service was really approachable and professional. The staff is proud of where they work and to deliver some of amazing food. I stayed for 5 days and tasted nearly every dishes on the menu. All dishes are created and composed with care looking at flavours, texture and originality! I loved it and was looking forward to seating down in the restaurant...

"This is a gem of a property in a beautiful mountain setting. The hosts are a wonderful Costa Rican couple who go above and beyond to provide an excellent experience and food. "Living in nature! Beautiful remote location, quiet, monkeys on the trees around you, accommodating and friendly staff. Kitchen with basic dishes and stove. The cabin is basic but clean and comfortable. Each cabin has two bedrooms, kitchenette and main room, bathroom, and a covered balcony with furniture. Road to the ranch is a dirt road (not to rough but not ran issue)."
