"My son and I decided last minute to head north for a quick weekend trip for some skiing. I found Up North Getaway and was very pleased. Cabin was small but perfect for what I was looking for. Only 15-20 mins to the slopes and close to lots of places to eat. We ended up at the bowling alley very close by for a couple of games and pizza after a day outside. I will also mention the heated floors were awesome to wake up to. The entire cabin has them. Only reason I have 4 stars for location is...

"We had the most amazing trip. The cottage is cute and cozy and had all the basic amenities we needed. The view out the front window was beautiful and peaceful. Enjoyed looking out by the fire and drinking our coffee every morning. Great location and not far from town for the needed grocery runs etc. It was a relaxing trip and we enjoyed our time on the trails. We are already planning our next trip back up to enjoy some spring summer and fall fun. Hank and Heather were excellent hosts. "

"This is a great place for people who are not interested in fussiness or frills and just want to enjoy a comfortable cottage in a gorgeous, great location. You’ve got to bring along a lot of your own stuff (towels, dish soap, sponge, bath soap, paper towels, extra toilet paper, that sort of thing), there’s no air conditioning, and my Verizon phone signal was better than the wifi even at full strength. But that’s not what we came for! We came to enjoy the area, and it was perfect for us. Very tidy...

"Kevin was such a great host! His family’s place on the lake is a great place to relax and enjoy water activities. We rented their very nice pontoon boat to do some tubing and fishing. Everyone also enjoyed the kayaks as well as fishing off of the dock. The house had plenty of space to accommodate all 6 of us. Ludington and Pentwater are just a short drive away if you need to find a restaurant for dining out or do some shopping. Just be aware that the roads leading to the house are not paved but...

"The house had a lot of space for all of us! The one downfall was bathrooms. There are three toilets and two showers. One of the toilets and showers is in a master suite which has no door on the bathroom. So that bathroom basically belongs to whoever sleeps in that room. One of the toilets is in a tiny closet type room and is good for kids under 5 ft tall."

"Perfect location, house and property. Will be back. One of the cleanest VRBOs I have rented for its size. Kitchen has more utensils, pots and pans then a Homegoods store. If visiting in the winter heed the instructions and park at top, if you do not have 4 wheel drive and snow tires you may not make it back up the hill. "
