"Lovely little hotel in an ideal spot, not too far from Keswick, but far enough for quiet. Plenty of walks near by and a good base to set up from to get around. We did take our dogs, and the hotel was very welcoming. The only issue we had was the car park was littered with dog poo and it was a battle to not stand in it. Had this not been an issue, we would have provided 5 stars all round. "

"Grateful to the Greystoke for stepping in at the last minute after a previous booking elsewhere was cancelled. A quiet location but close enough for walking into the town. No problems booking in or during the 3 days stay. Beware of the big breakfasts - you may not want to move afterwards - but they set you up nicely for the day of exploring the area. "We thought the hosts were really lovely and the location of the guesthouse was ideal for us for walking. There are two pubs within walking distance which serve fantastic food: Coledale inn and Royal Oak. However, we had a downstairs room and seemed to have been really unlucky with the guests upstairs who woke us up every hour during the night. Thankfully, we were only staying a couple of nights as we were absolutely exhausted by the end. Would recommend a stay, just maybe ask for an upstairs...

"Myself and my young Cavapoo, Rose have just stayed for 2 nights. It was not in the centre of town but only a 10 min walk from the centre. The view of Latrigg from my bedroom window was amazing. Lorna is so welcoming and accommodating, nothing was too much trouble. There is also all the little touches in the room like cotton pads, refreshments etc. Great for a solo traveller & her best friend. Would highly, highly recommend staying here. "It was clean and well presented, the owners were very friendly and helpful, the room was warm and comfortable. The bathroom was clean, fairly spacious with a most excellent shower. We missed breakfast the first morning due to taking part in an event, but found they had left us some bananas and apples for us. We had the full breakfast the next day which was spot on. And they have their own parking spots for 4 cars! Definitely will use again , as we had a lovely stay. "
