"The house was in an amazing location and there were plenty of attractions within a short drive of the house. John was the most helpful host we have ever worked with, he was easily accessible the entire weekend and called to welcome us upon arrival. The house was great for our large group with amazing features - a favorite of ours was the piano! We definitely recommend this house!"

"My teen daughters and I stayed here 4 nights and used the cabin as a home base for a service project. The cabin was a comfy safe haven for us when we were none weary and sore! The kitchen was well stocked, beds were comfortable, climate control was easy, and the washer and dryer were indispensable. As with all of cabin type dwellings, you will hear creaking and footsteps from upstairs to downstairs. There are two showers, but if you use both at the same time, water pressure will be weak (common in the mountains). If you can handle these small inconveniences, don't hesitate to rent this property! "

"My daughter and I stayed here in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene after being trapped in Banner Elk. Despite having no electricity, water, cell service, phone or internet the management, staff and everyone else there all came together as a community and worked together to do everything possible for each other and everyone there and to keep everyone's spirits high Despite all the tragedy and destruction. We will forever remember the smiling faces, kindness and support offered by the wonderful people here. May God bless you and yours. "

"Very nice condo with lots of room and all the basic supplies you need for a few days or a few weeks! The staff members are welcoming and keep in touch to make sure your stay is satisfactory. The condo was clean, modern and in good repair. Highly recommended!"

"We have stayed in Sugar Mtn countless times over the decades, both in houses and condos, and we thoroughly enjoyed this round house. It was clean and well-stocked and having two toilets upstairs was nice. My husband and I (in our 60's) stayed in the basement in the bunk beds, a first, and we have never experienced a spiral staircase like that! For anyone very overweight or with bad knees, I would suggest you enter that room using the outside stairs from the deck and avoid the staircase. Despite that, the downstairs was very nice even for "older people". I'm not quite sure how people would walk to the ski slopes in the winter, but other than having to cross the road, we were able to find short walks with the grandchildren. One other note: it's great to have four parking spaces since often parking is quite limited with rentals, but we arrived late at night in the rain and dark and struggled to park two large cars on the top spaces. We were unable to find a path up to the house from the lower lot until the next day and I actually tripped on a root and took a tumble going down that rough path. Again, for anyone with mobility issues, there are a lot of steps going down from the upper lot and a steep path up from the lower lot. Overall, we found this house adorable and comfortable and would definitely make it a repeat vacation place in Sugar Mtn."
