"This is a good place to stay if your main focus is skiing/snowboarding. This is more of a rustic cabin stay. Our room had two beds and an attached bathroom. There is a restaurant with some dinner service at night. You are a 5 minute walk to the ski slope and a 1 minute walk from a ski rental shop and a western style pub restaurant. "If you are looking for an easy access to the mountains at a good price it is the place to go. The room was very clean and the mattress very comfortable. We had a room w/out bathrooms so we used the common bathroom and it was very clean and organized, they provided you with towels, shampoo, conditioners and soap like any hotel bathroom would. "Quite possibly one of the hidden gems of Hakuba Goryu. If you want the true Hakuba local experience and taken back in time, this is your spot. No frills and feel like you are staying with your relatives. Amazing hosts that go above and beyond to make your stay pleasant. "This facility is suitable for relaxing all the time with big outside bathtub and quiet room. We could stay in safe and really enjoy all of the time. Especially when we were in the 2nd floor in our room to take a outside bath, we were amazed by the beautiful sight of the stars. "The owners provided excellent hospitality. It was really nice of them to pick and drop us off at the train station. There is a bus stop in front of the house which was very convenient to visit the snow resorts. The house is clean, homey, and great for the price. I highly recommend staying here! I hope to visit again in the future."

"This is a new hotel in Hakuba. The room is clean. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The hotel has shuttle bus to Happo One and Hakuba 47. A rental store is right next to the hotel. The restaurant at the hotel is very nice. We also walked around to explore the local restaurants. We had a very pleasant experience!"

"We had a good stay at Furuhata, but there were a few inconveniences. The onsen was fantastic—nice and hot, perfect after a long day of skiing. Towels and kimonos were replaced daily, which was a great touch, and beds were made every two days. The price was reasonable, and the shuttle to the ski resort was convenient. However, there was no shuttle into town, bus station or train station and taxi options were nonexistent, which made getting around a bit tricky. There were only a few restaurants within walking distance, so food options were limited. The front desk staff didn’t speak much English, but Google Translate made communication easy. Overall, a comfortable stay with great amenities, but be prepared for some transportation challenges if you want to explore beyond the ski resort."

Holiday Inn Resort Kuroyon, an IHG Hotel

"This is a lovely new hotel, very helpful friendly staff and one of the very best Onsens we’ve experienced in Japan (this is my third trip). Really fantastic- new, clean, three pools- outstanding. The hotel is 35 minutes S of Hakuba by car and an hour by shuttle bus, and the shuttle only runs to and from once per day so without a car you don’t have many options. Omachi, the nearest town is a fairly long walk. Recommend having a rental car if you stay here. "
