"This property was beautiful and the onsens were amazing. We loved that the baths were private so that our children could use them as well. We had dinner at the property and it was delicious and quite a treat. Anyone planning to stay should know that this property is not very walkable. It is not only further away than other properties, it is on a hillside. We utilized taxis a great deal. This property was also not clean. There was mold growing on the walls and bugs (mosquitos?) smashed...

"Had an amazing honeymoon here last week. We stayed in Kokonoe which had a private open air bath. Right at the star, the staff was very polite and took care of us extremely well. The room we had was so nice and did not leave us wanting for anything. The open air bath especially was a treat and I did not want to leave, especially as my view during was breathtaking. I chose the option that included both breakfast and dinner and I was amazed at the traditional Japanese meals I received. There were so many small dishes that made for a great culinary experience. I also enjoyed the great beverages during dinner and would recommend the kiwi liqueur. I wanted to specifically give thanks to Kameda who made conversation with us with the English he knew and was very kind during our meal. This is definitely a place I would recommend to those who want a relaxing time away from the city and a culinary experience."

"We loved this place. An older property but very traditional interior with a wonderful bathing area. The views are just incredible. You can wake up with an amazing sunrise over the ocean with the best vantage point in town. But the best part of this place is the host. From when we arrived the upbeat, positive energy of the host was amazing; she didn’t miss a beat and was incredibly helpful even though we didn’t speak each others language. Would stay here again anytime. "

"The hotel was amazing and exceeded all my expectations. There was a lovely welcome and check in process, the hotel and its grounds were immaculately cared for and the facilities were outstanding and all staff went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and satisfaction. I highly recommend this hotel and look forward to staying there again next time."

GREAT EVERYTHING!!!

"We stayed here with elderly parents. It’s very close from the station and easy to find. The man (sorry I didn’t get his name) at check-in was extremely thorough in explaining everything and friendly yet professional. We had a private bath in our room, but mainly visited the main baths. I didn’t realize they had this “Radon onsen” which had many health benefits. The dinner was HUGE and amazing. The breakfast was just was good. The service was great, too. The coffee in the lobby was also great. WE WILL DEFINITELY RETURN!! Thank you so much for the wonderful stay :)"

A Gem

"Cous Cous is a gem and I feel lucky I found it. It is located in the woods uphill from a non-touristy workaday fishing town. Each glampsite is beautifully furnished, very comfortable and has its own gas BBQ grill. Meals are served on your own patio or at the beautiful cafe onsite, your choice. Food is gourmet. Staff was polite, respectful of my privacy and spoke American. The restroom and bathrooms are Japan-clean. Can’t ask for more. It’s off the beaten path, but it was a vacation from a vacation for me. Thank you, Cous Cous."

"This was my first ryokan visit so take what I say with a grain of salt. First, the staff was very accommodating and nice. Their English was limited but they went out of their way to make sure we were welcome including coming to our room to show us how to set up our futon. Dinner was amazing with so many items. Here again, the staff took their time to show us the items. The room was also very nice and authentic - the floor was covered by tatami mats and we slept on futons which were very comfortable. "
