"The reviews said it was well-appointed they were right! Everytime we said to each other, do they have this? they did! It is clean and newly and tastefully renovated and the bed was super comfy with good linens (important to me).Kauai is EXPENSIVE so it was great to make breakfast everyday and eat it out on the balcony, which has a private view. It is important to know that this property is not a resort so there is no outdoor areas to lounge other than the balcony and the pool (which does not face the ocean). When looking at other places that had pools, lounging areas and beach access, they charged a resort fee so it was more expensive. We had no issues because we were out hiking every day and threw the beach chairs in the back of our car and went to different beaches after our outings, which was awesome. The Lava Lava Club restaurant/bar was close and they have a beach there to hang out on and Lae Nani for safe swimming is right there. We had a fantastic first time in Kauai! A truly special place."

"Had a great experience at this resort. Well located to explore both sides of the island, Coconut marketplace was a 6-8 minute walk or a 1 minute drive. Property was well maintained and the kids loved the pool and hot tub (pool was a little chilly for me). The only downside was the beach isn’t swimmable at all, was nice to watch the sunrise or drink a morning coffee on but the rock shelf that was just a few feet in from the water edge made it impossible to swim in or around. The island has so many different beaches as options it wasn’t an issue for us at all. Staff was friendly and helpful also. They even have a couple pool tables and a shuffle board table that were a nice option when we were looking to escape the sun for a few minutes. Overall this was a excellent experience and definitely worth the price."

"Nice quiet small complex. The grounds were well kept up. The only loud sounds were the occasional resident rooster calls. We didn't go to the pool but it appeared clean. The condo was cutely decorated and the air conditioner in the bedroom worked great. Didn't need an air conditioner for the rest of the space due to a nice breeze always coming from the balcony. All appliances that we used were in good condition (did not use washer/dryer). The only negatives were the dirty vent above the bathroom sink. We found dirt crumbs in the sink everyday from stuff falling from the vent. Could be why the sink is slow to drain. Marvin made a few neighborly stop ins to see how we were getting along. All in all we would stay here again. You can get fresh Malasadas from across the street!"

"This was our first visit to Hawaii and we couldn't have found a better property to stay at. Secluded, quiet and well maintained. The River Cottage was so well equipped with kitchen ware, microwave, full oven, refrigerator and even Alexa for listening 🎧 to music at night on our Lanai. Paul the property manager was gracious and the cottage was immaculate. From this property, you are only five minutes by car away from Smith Family Farms where there is a 30 acre botanical garden and luau that runs several days a week. Reservations are a must. There is also the Fern Grotto cruise that is a wonderful hour and a half journey with entertainment that is well worth your time and definitely affordable. We plan on going back in 2026. It felt like our home away from home and about 15 minutes away from the Lihiue airport."
