Convenient parking to room, amazing that we could walk across the street and be on the beach for good seashell and sand dollar hunting. At high tide we went and sat on the stairs just to enjoy the ocean and full moon! The host was great and really attentive. Would stay again if/when we return to New Zealand. "

"I would recommend staying somewhere else. Bugs everywhere in the room, especially when it was night. I stayed in room 10 which sits in the sun all day. There are no blackout curtains for all the windows so the room gets very warm. The water from the sink tasted like dirt. But worst of all, The husband that runs the motel is a rude and impatient human being. Stay somewhere else."

"We stayed in the Kauri chalet and really liked it. The view is great. The connecting room, Rata’s view is even better, but that room is much smaller. If you are a bigger group, booking these two rooms together will be perfect. We woke up to the birdsongs and had a peaceful breakfast on the balcony. The stairs bring the charm to the place and we did not mind the extra steps. Owner/staff are very friendly. PAKnSAVE is only 6 minutes drive away."
