"This was a return visit for us and our dog. It's a lovely location, with scenic walks for the dog, aubreys restaurant for us and the activities and family disco for the little one. Our Heartwood lodge was spotless and the doggie welcome pack was very much appreciated (our dog loved the little rope toy!) Steve the night service guy welcomed.us for checkin, he is so lovely and warm. The lodge had everything a family could need, kitchen utensils, etc. The bath in the bedroom was a really nice touch, I spent the first night soaking after the long drive with a glass of wine! The only downside was the shower design, which leaked water all over the floor, but there is nothing anyone can do about this. It's a lovely drive to Bournemouth or any of the New Forest towns. We are already looking forward to next year!"

"Quick weekend visit, not sure i've ever been to a hotel where the staff have been more friendly. It was as if it was a long lost family reunion. The building is oldish and characterful in a good way. Our room was lovely and quiet, spacious too. I was going to give the bed a 5 star rating but then i thought i had to find something to criticise, the only thing was i heard a twang from a bed spring, that was it, perfect night's sleep apart from a "twang". I can heartily recommend this place to stay. It was lovely. Oh, and it's so convenient to town too."

"We loved this hotel! It had apparently had a huge refurb about 2 years ago. It was decorated beautifully with quality, well placed items of furniture. The staff were super friendly and efficient. We ate in the restaurant and again the staff were great. The food was delicious. Breakfast was just as good. Parking was easy. I would whole heartedly recommend this place. "
