"The property is undoubtedly small. It was very clean and comfortable - a perfect base for exploring this wonderful area. Plenty of grocery stores and pubs/restaurants in surrounding area. A very steep narrow staircase leading to the second level of the property. I note this has been mentioned in other reviews too. Overall, my wife and I were very satisfied with the property."

"We had a week’s stay at Orton Hall in Nell Gwyn Cottage. The front room and bedroom were comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped, but it all felt a bit dated. The grounds were lovely, but unfortunately it rained every day we stayed there, so we couldn’t really explore them. However, we did discover a chocolate factory in the village which we very much enjoyed, as well as a very tasty cafe for a full English breakfast nearby. "The house was nice. It suffered from overheating due to VERY hot summer days and inadequate insulation (may be a problem in winter) and was difficult to ventilate (needs opening windows to rear and some fans). Location is good for getting to shops etc but being in the back yard of a pub is a bit noisy (brewery vans at 8am, drunks at 1130pm). The garage MUST be used to avoid blocking the yard but its door is rather a squeeze for a large-ish family car (Mazda CX5). Leather sofas not ideal, and...

"This was a nice property to house us four adults and 4 teenagers. It is a 10/15 min walk to central Keswick. Kitchen was well equipped and good number of bath rooms. Rooms were clean and bedding nice. The sanitary wear is a little dated but functional."

"Had a wonderful weekend away and this little gem is in the heart of the centre which is great. Very compact&quite small but very cute. Parked car opposite on paid carpark. Decor is beautiful,bit dark for applying make-up ladies and had trouble 1st day with no hot water but within 10mins it was sorted so all good. "
