"We had a wonderful 5-night stay at the cottage over New Year. It is small and cosy and set in a small village overlooking fields and hills. The sunrise in the morning is beautiful. The kitchen has everything you could need to cook meals and there is a large Sainsbury's about 10 minutes drive away to stock up on provisions. The Herdwick Inn is a great local pub about 10 minutes walk away (take a torch if dark!) and 5 minutes drive away is a llama cafe and farm shop, Basecamp. The main hiking...

"We stayed for two nights over the weekend with our dog. Weather was fabulous. Managed a couple of long hikes. Aira Force and Keswick nearby. The cottage is lovely and has all the amenities we needed. Parking spaces right outside. Quaint and clean. Would recommend!"

"What a beautiful location and lovely little cottage. We were worried about the size of the bunk beds as we didn't realise they were not full size but my daughter and friend (5'11" and 5'9" found them very comfortable). The track up to the house was more of a problem. Glad our car has lots of clearance - a small car would not have managed those pot holes!"

"The house was everything we needed, opposite a pub and the swimming pool. The villagers were very friendly and helpfull, especially in the swimming pool. Unfortunately the internet stopped working on the third day but the rental company responded out of hours to help sort it out.."

"The four of us had a wonderful stay in Dunkeld Cottage. The stone cottage was lovely - though the two tall men had to learn to duck at the kitchen door! The living spaces and bedrooms were very comfortable and the kitchen was fantastic, with top-quality Siemens stove top and oven, a good dishwasher and much appreciated washer and dryer. The kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans and utensils to make cooking easy. There was salt, pepper, sugar and tea. The shower had good water pressure and...

"We really enjoyed staying here, lots of room, nicely updated house, all the amenities that we could need were available, and incredibly nice host! So close to the Lake District, easy to get to the hikes and lakes and cute little villages. Loved staying here and would definitely stay again when we come back. "
