"When we arrived at the lodge we were supposed to be staying in there was another family there who said the lodge they were supposed to be staying in was occupied so they were given this lodge. We rang the contact number and he apologised, we were provided the key code for another lodge and when i opened the door that was occupied as there was a dog in there. "Lodge was adequate for our needs as a base for two day trips to Alton Towers. Bedrooms and Bathrooms were great but the living areas and kitchen need some upgrades as the sofas and dining chairs very uncomfortable due to over use. The kitchen was adequate - however the hob didn’t work the oven wasn’t easy to use and there was a dishwasher which was listed so we didn’t bring tablets for that and don’t expect to find a dish cloth to clean or wash dishes."

"A lovely little hut in a perfect location. Check out time is 9am so if we were to return, I think it would have to be for a minimum of two nights as 9am is pretty early so we didn’t even have time for breakfast before we had to clean up and check out. Considering the price and the small space, I think a complimentary addition of bits in the fridge would be good. Lots of places I’ve visited for the same price (and less!) on Vrbo have added in fresh bread, butter, orange juice and even Prosecco...

"This is a beautiful quiet cottage finished to a high standard with everything you need for a chilled relaxing holiday.Communication with Ray and Julie was great and the pool was an amazing addition to the cottage.The location is perfect for walking Dovedale 30 mins, Tissington trail 20 mins and the Old Dog Pub which was very welcoming 10 minutes walk.Cannot fault the whole package and would not hesitate to revisit in the future."
