"This is a lovely cottage, beautiful views, great area. I do however have some things I wasn't happy with, mostly the beds. The beds were not comfortable, most of us did not sleep well. That to me is the whole point of renting a place to stay, is to sleep, if the beds aren't comfortable, I won't be coming back. Also, the place wasn't very clean. Every kitchen drawer and cupboard I opened definitely needed cleaning. The amount of dead bugs in the light fixtures was just gross to be honest. ...

I loved that we could enjoy a wood fire both inside in the wood stove and outside in the fire pit. "We were excited about our stay at Rice Lake! But the house had a few problems and it made our stay less enjoyable. The small A/C unit is located in the living room area and not in the bedrooms. So every night was hot, and unable to cool the rooms properly. Second problem was the washer failed on the 2nd day of our stay and the owners did not fix the problem. "We had an amazing time here! Booked it originally as it had a sauna and hot tub as weather April can be hit or miss, and they were a lovely addition to the property that we enjoyed immensely. Nick and Rob were extremely helpful and friendly. The power went out for a little bit on one of our mornings and they were very helpful and generous in trying to make sure our stay wasn't impacted. Definitely would come back here in the summer months to enjoy all it has to offer! "

"The place is astonishing, cozy, homey, and very charming. We found it pleasantly spacious for 4 people. The kitchen has all the supplies and basics you might need. The grounds around and the nature at the lake are just stellar. True beauty star of Kawartha region. Not many motorized vehicles on the water. Perfect for sweeming. Water was cristal clear and warm.
