"It’s a lovely cottage, spacious and homely, on a farm with view of fields, hills and sheep. It’s in a good location for visiting all the local historic areas. Hadrian’s wall, the Roman museums etc we even drove to Edinburgh on one of the days. "

"I was taken to the room, which was somewhat cramped with ever-so-slightly grubby duvets and extremely thin pillows. All acceptable problems I was prepared to deal with (as was the remote for the oddly-placed tele being dead, but that's me being picky) and I was even able to accept the fact that the shower had two settings - literally scalding (the red of my hand taking hours to go down) or too cold to use. "Cannot rate the Bridge House highly enough. The B&B is a stone's throw from the (best bit of) wall and 20 steps from a great little pub to watch the sun set. The room, bed, and shower were all perfect and the breakfast was the best I had all trip. What's more, the hosts clearly don't think twice about going above and beyond for their guests, making sure that I had ice for a nagging injury from the trail despite my late arrival. Just a rare level of hospitality. "
