"The house is an absolutely stunning location. Breath taking views every morning, even if the weather did always play ball. There are some lovely areas to walk in and explore nearby and a few very nice local restaurants but these can get booked up very quickly. Even when it was raining we enjoyed our stay as the dense forests provided plenty of cover and there are excellent trips to caves and nearby cities such as Lucca and Barga that are easy drives. The roads in the valley are quite narrow but traffic is generally very light so you I'd recommend not renting an SUV as it makes it much more challenging to pass other cars at points. "

"Superb. We had a great week in the beautiful villa Alventura. The facilities are excellent, the surrounding countryside is stunning and Anne and Simon couldn’t have been more helpful as hosts. We particularly appreciated both indoor and outdoor kitchens, well equipped, and the pizza oven was well used by us. The bedrooms are spacious and the whole place was clean and well looked after. The pool is great for cooling off. Even though the September weather we had was rather mixed the afternoons were generally hot and the south facing terrace is a great place to relax. We found the property was a great base from which to explore the smaller towns and villages in the area, such as Bagni di Lucca and Castelnuovo di Garfagnana as well as Barga itself. We were also able to get to bigger places, such as Lucca, Pisa and Florence, with no trouble. It’s worth noting that the general terrain is hilly and the roads have numerous sharp bends, so bear that in mind if arranging a hire car. The train services are also very efficient and not too pricey. We would definitely go back to this villa if going to the same area."

"We have just come back from our ten nights holiday in this wonderful property which is hosted by the lovely Patrizia and her extremely helpful and kind son, Francesco. On arrival Francisco was waiting at the property to welcome us, show us around, explain things to us, and answer any questions. Francesco was then always available via text to kindly help us make restaurant reservations, etc. He was always very quick to respond, and went above and beyond to make sure we were happy and had everything we might need. He is such a lovely person. It was very nice also to meet Patrizia. Her jar of gorgeous homemade jam was a special treat in amongst the very generous box of welcome provisions in the kitchen. The house is a beautiful and traditional Italian home with three big sized bedrooms (that each have a fan and mosquito blinds), a shower room with WC, sink and bidet, a downstairs shower room with WC, small kitchen with everything you could possibly need, and a cosy living room. There were plenty of towels for all us, and Francesco even delivered a big box of more towels mid-stay! There is a fantastic laundry room, too. We absolutely adored the property's stunning outdoors with breathtaking views all around. The swimming pool was amazing, aswell as its eight sun longers, parasol, and cabina. The two outdoor covered dining areas are also excellent; in particular the beautiful loggia situation next to the impressive outdoor-kitchen and pizza oven. Perfection. welcome us a,explain"

"What a superb holiday apartment, pictures don’t do this place justice. We stayed for almost 2 weeks, apartment is as described but doesn’t show the lovely gardens full of fruit trees and the impeccable condition of the pool, ideal for hot summer days to cool off. Gallicano is well placed for exploring or completely relaxing, walking distance to local cafe, bakery and town is just a short 10 min walk, well equipped supermarket is a km away - can’t rate location to amenities highly enough. Paolo and her wonderful dad Carlo were in hand before, during and after our stay with helpful information, couldn’t ask for nicer hosts! Would definitely stay again when visiting Tuscany!"
