"Would have been helpful to have a manual on how to operate the ac system, the whirlpool tub, Wolf range. The refrigerator had not been cleaned. Had a Murder mystery dinner and the Inn was part of the setting. People in town were friendly with the exception of the brewery. It was handy to have restaurants menus available to review. Kids want to come back."

"We have stayed at the Elkader Jail House many times and the Harstad Suite is a great room for the 4 of us. The large kitchen and family space on the first floor provide plenty of space for everyone to get together and relax. Its nearby my family and takes the stress off anyone needing to make space for all of us to sleep. Its comfortable, clean and an easy to walk downtown. We'll be back soon!"

"I lead a young adult retreat for our church (24 people). Had a wonderful time, beautiful lodges, great scenery, and tons of stuff to do at the Lodge. Check-in and out was easy, good communication, and place was clean and easy to use. We had a wonderful time!"

"The house is completely warm and inviting clean and beautiful. The property is well-maintained and we sat by the fire pit down by the creek played with Willow the dog. Everything was just wonderful and perfect! "

"The property is beautiful! The house is just amazing. It was even decorated for Christmas in several rooms, which made it even more special. It was the perfect size for our family and we were able to host a wonderful NYE dinner and play games. There are plenty of things to do and spaces to spread out and enjoy time together. "Nice, older well maintained property. Everything is within walking distance for restaurants/shopping/etc. We all had our own rooms and the washer/dryer were a great feature to use. We went to field of dreams and tractor museum. Great weekend get away with family! Thank you! "

"We have stayed at a few different places in ROL. This one by far has been the best. Place was spotless, no weird odors, towels were fresh. Had just what we needed. Will definitely be staying at the property again!"

"We always enjoy our stay at the Jailhouse Inn. The only request I would have would be updated/new mattresses and an actual headboard for the bed in the Emma Big Bear suite. It's always clean. The shower is wonderful. Tidying up before leaving is never a problem. Thank you."
