"The location of the hotel, the accommodations themselves and the staff were beyond exemplary, but Hotels.com was deplorable in its functions or rather its inability to perform its obligation to its customers and the hotel itself. I was locked out because Hotels.com did not deliver. The message to hotel had sent me with special instructions being required for check-in after 9 PM when I contacted Hotels.com I wasted two hours on a chat with them while they’ve berated me for making the mistake...

"AK was the best host and made the stay in Queenstown a joy with his warmth and great suggestions. Property is a pleasant and scenic walk from town yet tranquil - a great balance between the scenery and the scene in this royal town. "

"Although there were 2 bathrooms I found them to not have enough hanging space, bathroom benches were small and often wet to put anything on. Had to use toilet paper to wipe dry, no paper towels. The second shower offered no privacy to change or dress or shelf to put shampoo etc on"

"Great location and comfortable beds! The staff are super nice and helpful (booked through a third party and there were some discrepancies but Haka House resolved them separately with the third party). Enough showers/bathrooms so we never had to wait. Only complaint is that our room was next to the lounge and that door is closed in the evenings (propped open during the day), which meant whenever ppl came and went at night, it kept slamming due to the door mechanism. "Incredible location; about 30 min from Glenorchy but a small community in its own right, quaint, with spectacular lake views. The fact that they have a restaurant, cafe, hot tub, and outdoor activities available there/nearby makes it feel like a bit of a haven. Easy access to Routeburn Track and High Country Horses, along with several other tracks; plenty to do outdoors. The accommodation was clean, comfortable, simple (I was in the budget twin).
