"Westmorland hotel is a no brainer as a stopover for the 10 hr journey to the Scottish Highlands. I have not met such friendly and helpful staff in a long time. The room was vast with great views. We walked down to the farmshop and bought some goodies. In the morning we turned left out of the hotel and had a lovely short walk along a quiet lane. We ate in the restaurant in the evening and the food was fresh and tasted amazing. I cannot believe how convenient it is for the M6."

" We booked the Pines for 3 nights and we were both pleasantly surprised, it's a gem. The lodges are set around a tranquil lake and are easily accessible from the M6. The lodge was very clean and very well equipped, comfortable beds, quality bedding and towels and central heating. The staff were really friendly and informative. The bar area is relaxing and inviting, I cannot really comment on the quality of the food at the restaurant as the lodges are geared for self catering with extensive equipment, such as, a dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, toaster, everything you need is provided...so we didn't eat in the restaurant but did notice the menu prices seemed expensive. Obviously been so close to major roads we expected some noise from traffic, but it was minimal and the lodges are double glazed. We really enjoyed our stay😊 I'd definitely recommend giving the Pines a visit."

"We had an executive suite which was excellent, it was well worth the extra money for the space & the extra touches. The quality of the furnishings & the bedding were very good & the bed was very comfy, we slept so well. it was cleaned each day to the same standard, the only slight issue was the soap dispensers we not very full & we ran out of all by the second day & the one on the sink wasn`t filled, only the bath & shower, we made do as it was our last night. Breakfast was very good, lots of it & plenty of choice which kept us going all day."

"This hotel was easy to find. When we arrived the staff were amazing and helpful. We had one problem with the room because it didn’t have enough beds, however the hotel manager was so helpful and sorted it out straight away. The food was nice and most importantly the beer was amazing!"

"I stayed for 2 nights whilst on business locally. My initial thought on booking was, it'll do but I was very pleasantly surprised. With it's warm, super friendly atmosphere and cosy furnishings I decided not to venture out & stayed to dine here both nights. I very much enjoyed my meals so much so I went for the Roast Dinner on both evenings - I can highly recommend. Thank you to Emma & Shane, sorry I didn't take the names of the other peeps but they were all lovely! "

"I stayed here a few years ago and it was good then. The upgrade to the hotel is fabulous. Mid afternoon arrival, everything in the room was new or spotless. The addt charge for breakfast was good value. The staff especially Jordan were very helpful. "
