"The bed and breakfast accommodation was very nice, clean tidy and well presented. Had a meal in the main pub which was also very nice. Breakfast (cooked English) was served which again was freshly prepared and a choice of cereals was also available."

"the room was not warm enough and although mentioned to the staff, it was some time before the heating was sufficient. The tea maker was in a cupboard on the floor. This is the first time I have encountered this in a hotel, This was not easy to make the first cup of tea in the morning. Having mentioned these two points, the staff we met were very helpful and pleasant. "The Eagle & Child is a cosy characterful pub in a quiet village just outside Kendal. It's our favourite place to stay for visits to relatives in the area. The staff are friendly and welcoming, the rooms clean and cosy with comfortable beds and well equiped bathrooms and the breakfast excellent. This was our third stay and it won't be our last."

"My wife, daughter and I stayed at The Wheatsheaf combining a work trip with some family time. We felt very well looked after at The Wheatsheaf; the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The room was a really good size for the three for us and we were all very comfortable. It is also a fantastic location for exploring the Yorkshire Dales and Lakes, with the beautiful Ingleton waterfall trail right on the doorstep. Thank you to the team! We hope we get to come back!"

"Adequate room, comfortable, great food, loads of parking, unfortunately I left before breakfast and allthough I was offered to use the breakfast room for toaster I think a few more options would have been welcomed. Overall no real issues, young lady behind the bar was very helpful and curteous."

"Lovely little private and secluded cottage with pretty well maintained gardens, perfect for a few days away. Super clean and well equipped with everything needed for our stay. Great communication from owners, checkin and key access was a breeze. Bathroom was functional but is compact."
