"Room was small but lovely and clean. The bed was comfy but the room was way too warm, you can’t control the thermostat. The en-suite was nice but only had a bath and was not made aware of this. The breakfast was so so, poached eggs were good apart from the bread was not toasted at all. The service was very quick and the staff weren’t very enthusiastic and didn’t really know the etiquette of whether you’d finished or not. "Good size carpark Check in at reception and all information is given. Rooms up a flight of stairs The room was an ok size as was the shower room. Bed is super comfortable Wifi is okish The shower was hot and powerful. Evening meal was excellent lots of choices and good value. Also have a planetarium! But it was £49 for a show and talk, shame no guest rates!! Would probably stay again when in the area. Location close to Hadrian's Wall and the once stood Sycamore Tree Gap!! Also has a brewery next...

"Lovely 305 yrs old country pub Room clean and great beds small but plenty big enough for two we were in the twin, Food the the bar was lovely and reasonably priced, staff were very friendly we would stay there again. "

"The staff at the Boot and Shoe were lovely - they were friendly and helpful during our stay. The cooked breakfast was excellent. We had booked a table for dinner but unfortunately the table we’d been allocated wasn’t great so we dined elsewhere. The staff were really apologetic and gave us a complimentary round of drinks to make up for this. The room itself was fine. The bed was ok and the room was clean. "Lovely little cottage, close to Penrith, keswick and ullswater so plenty of options for things to do. The cottage is ideal for the two of us and the pooch, and is our second time staying there and most likely will be returning next year. We even saw a red squirrel which was very nice, though it was too fast for a photograph. The bed is comfy and the shower is amazing after a long walk. It's pretty much got everything you need. Another great stay at Erikas cottage. "
